Laser light has been used around the world for healing, pain relief and light needle acupuncture, and has been subject to extensive research over the years.  Research has shown that varying powers and wavelengths of laser light can have different effects on the body's cells.  Using a particular wavelength of red laser light, a particular enzyme is triggered in fat cells which helps to break them down into glycerol and fatty acids.  This can help to break down the cell walls to release the fatty acids which can be more readily used as fuel for the body. 

The particular laser light used for inch loss therapy differs from the laser light used in surgical or hair removal procedures, and passes through the skin without damaging or causing other thermal effects.
